EIA Guidelines and Training Project, Croatia

The CARDS 2003 project «EIA Guidelines and Training Project, Croatia» commenced on the 13th July 2005, and was implemented ove ran eighteen month period by Environmental Resources Management (ERM) Ltd. UK and OIKON Ltd. Croatia. The overall objective of the Project was to support the Croatian Government's objective of EU accession by increasing the environmental sustainability of development projects in line with EU standards.

The specific objectives of the Project were to support the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Physical Planning and Construction (MEPPPC), Department for Environmental Impact Assessment and for Implementation of Measures for Environmental Pollution Prevention to:

• Enhance, facilitate and strengthen the use of EIA according to EU standards and practices.
• Implementation of the EIA guidelines on the national and county level.

• Training materials and training partners prepared to deliver an EIA procedures course and a methodology course
